This is the 14^th conference on quality in medical laboratories in a row. 

This edition of the successful series of Quality in the Spotlight meeting is being programmed right now by the independent foundation, “The Quality Meetings.” This foundation has a strong support of laboratory physicians and clinical chemists from Belgium and The Netherlands, and over the years, a growing number of professionals from all over the world is attending and contributing to this meeting as well.

Over the last 13 years a group of about 120 scientists gathered in Antwerp each year to discuss, think over and use concepts concerning quality in laboratory medicine. 
The 12^th edition of this successful series of Quality in the Spotlight meeting focused on AUDIT and QUALITY. From both sides of the ocean speakers shared their experience in applying the ISO 15189 to their specific countries and laboratory situations. The differences were striking. Dr. David Burnett, who received the Westgard award for outstanding contributions to quality concepts in the field of laboratory medicine, shed his light on the ISO norm 15189, being working on the process of the third revision of the same norm. You can image that the participants were thrilled by the information given, the discussions emerging and the informal atmosphere.
The 13^th edition was programmed on the theme UPGRADE QUALITY and had a focus on tools such as 6sigma, LEAN, SPC, DMAI2C method, optimization tools as well as CQI.
